What is a Living Lab?
A Living Lab is a real-life test and experimentation environment where users and producers co-create innovations in a trusted open ecosystem that enables business and societal innovations.
Why Amsterdam? From its earliest days, Amsterdam has been a bustling hub of innovation that welcomed other cultures with open arms and it still remains one of the most popular tourist & business destinations in Europe. The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area has all of the key assets to be a creative & economically-strong region and it has successfully fostered collaboration between governmental agencies, research institutions & the trade and industry sector. Amsterdam is one of a growing number of flagship smart cities, having had great success in opening data for urban innovation, and with an active creative industry, tourism sector, financial & business services & a fast developing ICT scene, Amsterdam makes a great host to OpenLivingLab Days 2014.
OpenLivingLab Days is the annual summit of the worldwide Living Lab community integrated with the popular ENoLL Summer School. The annual 4 day event includes interactive sessions, workshops, lively discussion panels with excursions and off-site visits with the aim to give participants a wider insight about models, theories and technologies related to Living Labs. Participants have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience from the leading experts on the subject and to network with other Living Lab practitioners. On the final day, we will welcome the 8th Wave of new ENoLL members to the network, and hold a special conference day with the World Wide Community of Open Living Labs.
